NY hospital: Shooting incident in the Bronx

Suspected gunman killed after injuring multiple people at New York City hospital

Police said the gunman, a former employee identified as Dr. Henry Bello, opened fire inside Bronx Lebanon Hospital in the early afternoon.

CBS New York reporter Reena Roy tweeted that police are going floor to floor in the hospital looking for the shooter who is believed to have a rifle and has reportedly barricaded himself.

Four to six people were shot in the incident, and other people suffered minor injuries while attempting to get away. AP is the largest and most trusted source of independent news and information.

A shooting at a hospital here today left several people injured, including three doctors, law enforcement authorities said who declared the shooter dead.

Sources tell NBC 4 NY a preliminary investigation reveals Bello resigned from the hospital in 2015 in lieu of termination.
