OnePlussays that it is investigating the issue, and is advising OnePlus 5 users who encounter this bug to contact it. While trying to report a fire nearby, he had attempted to call 911 twice, and his phone rebooted both times.
Over the last few days, a small but growing number of OnePlus 5 users have claimed that upon dialing "911" or "999" - numbers designated for emergency services in the US and United Kingdom, respectively - their phones have rebooted prior to the call going through.
The bug of the OnePlus 5 rebooting when you dial 911 can be seen in the video below from Nick Morelli which was posted on Facebook. It is a scary issue as the device is basically of no use when the user tries to get through 911 in case of urgency.
It could be the phone encounters a problem when using Global Positioning System to provide a location to the person at the other end of the call, something emergency service operators look to leverage.

Following several other odd issues, another, potentially much bigger issue has just popped up with OnePlus 5 devices.
When we tried to replicate the problem on our OnePlus 5 model at the office, we found that the phone worked properly. "Phone rebooted after dialling", another OnePlus 5 user said. The phone starts the process of dialing the number, but before the operator can answer, the phone shuts off and reboots.
OnePlus has already confirmed to The Next Web that it is looking into the issue and asks that anyone else experiencing it to contact email@example.com.
"We have contacted the customer and are now looking into the issue". OnePlus responded to the issue by sating that the jelly-like effect is "natural" and that "there's no variance in screens between devices".
