Ishaq Dar premier's 'frontman': Imran

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said the report is a "compilation of allegations" hurled by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Every contradiction will not only be contested but decimated in SC. He said the JIT has failed to record the statement of the most important witness in the case.

The JIT had reservations regarding the significant gap and disparity among the known and declared source of income and the wealth accumulated have been observed, according to the JIT document.

Respondent 1 refers to Prime Minister Sharif; Respondent 6 was Maryam; Respondent 7 Hussain; while Respondent 8 was Hassan.

The probe being conducted by JIT is in connection with the alleged offshore assets of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's family, as was revealed in the Panama Papers leak.

The report said: "Failure on the part of all respondents to produce the required information confirming "known sources of income" is prima facie tantamount to not being able to justify assets and the means of income".

The court adjourned Monday's proceedings until July 17, when lawyers for both sides will be given a chance to present their arguments on the investigating team's findings. "We will unveil the contradictions of this report in front of the Supreme Court", he said. "We will demolish this report".

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that the government would contest the JIT report in the apex court, adding that the government has firm faith in the judiciary.
