NATO soldier, 3 Afghan civilians killed in Taliban attack
Two Afghan police officers were killed and a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation soldier was wounded in an apparent insider attack in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, officials said.
The troops were patrolling with Afghan National Army counterparts in the Qarabagh district of Kabul province, near Bagram Air Field, the largest US base in the country, when the suicide bomb detonated.
On Wednesday, a suicide attacker hit a convoy on the edge of the southern city of Kandahar, killing two United States soldiers and wounding another four.
The armed conflict in Afghanistan, which is in its 16th year, started with the fall of the Taliban regime in the late 2001 and has claimed tens of thousands of lives in the country.
On Thursday, another soldier was killed outside Kabul and six others were wounded.
