Kevin Can Wait: Season Two; How Erinn Hayes Will Exit the CBS Sitcom

'Kevin Can Wait': Donna's Dies in Season 2 — Where Is Erinn Hayes? | TVLine

Now comes another shocker: Hayes' character, Donna, will be killed off! Remini will reprise the role she played in the two-part season one finale - a tough, wise-cracking police officer named Vanessa Cellucci who used to work with James' character on the force.

Hello and goodbye to a wife for Kevin James.

CBS entertainment president Kelly Kahl and senior executive vice president Thom Sherman revealed Tuesday, at their inaugural session in front of the Television Critics Assn. press tour, that Kevin James will become a widower on his sitcom "Kevin Can Wait". After the case was closed, Kevin came home to his wife and learned that Donna has quit her job as a school nurse. "Obviously the chemistry between Kevin and Leah was fantastic in the stunt episode we did at the end of last season, and we decided we want to continue that".

In June when news broke that Hayes would not be returning for Season 2 of "Kevin Can Wait", Hayes said she was "very sad" and confirmed that the departure was not her call, tweeting, "True, I've been let go from the show". "Kevin, the studios and the network all got together and wanted to keep that magic and chemistry going forward".

Remini and James have a past working together on set and starred alongside each other from 1998 to 2006 on King of Queens.

US Vacates Russia Compounds Targeted Over Sanctions
The legislation will also limit the president's ability to lift the sanctions against Russian Federation on his own. It also froze two embassy compounds - a Moscow summer house and a storage facility in the city - from August 1.

In the new season, James' character will join a new security firm run by Remini. That day, Hayes reported that she was leaving the arrangement.

When a reporter questioned if Kevin Can Wait was becoming too similar to King of Queens with Remini's casting, Sherman responded, "No, I don't think so".

Nine or 10 months will have passed when Season 2 premieres, giving James' character and their on-screen children time to grieve and move on.

"I'm not sure we can make that hilarious", he said, noting Hayes had no say in how Donna was being written out.
