AFPBelgium Agriculture Minister Denis Ducharme has blamed Dutch authorities for the egg crisis
But Van Lint, inspector-general of the Dutch food and consumer product safety watchdog, was adamant: "The reproach that we knew in November 2016 about Fipronil in eggs is wrong", he said.
Some of the products the eggs went into will have a short shelf life so will have already been consumed, the FSA added.
The contaminated eggs are likely to have been mixed with non-contaminated eggs, diluting the amount of fipronil that could be consumed.
Some 180 farms - which produce millions of eggs a week - have been temporarily shut down while further tests are carried out.
Heather Hancock, Chairman of the Food Standards Agency, said: "I'm confident that acting quickly is the right thing to do".
In a statement today, the FSAI said that in June, "very small quantities of (contaminated) boiled eggs were supplied to nine catering outlets in Ireland".
Taylor Swift in federal court over groping allegation
Swift wore a white dress with a black jacket on Monday as the eight-member jury is chosen from a pool of 60 prospects. She is expected to take the stand during the trial in US District Court in order to testify about the incident.
The scandal erupted last week when it was discovered that about 200 eggs producers in the Netherlands and Belgium were illegally using Fipronil on their chickens - which is against European Union law. Criminal investigationProsecutors in Europe have launched a criminal investigation after millions of eggs were either withdrawn from sale or blocked in Europe following chemical contamination.
Dozens of farms are being checked in the Netherlands, while Belgium's food safety agency is probing how Fipronil might have entered eggs destined for supermarkets.
A spokesman of Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel confirmed Thursday that Belgium will set up a task force to examine all possible measures to support the poultry sector following the insecticide-contaminated egg scandal.
Jones said: "The egg industry believes that this is a great opportunity for retailers to listen to the concerns of their customers and reassure them by specifying the use of British eggs, and using the "Made with British Lion eggs" logo on packs". Last Friday, it said there was no evidence the United Kingdom was affected at all. "The eggs have mostly been sold to cafeterias, cafes and catering firms, and have most probably not been sold in Danish retail stores to any large degree", the agency said, adding the eggs posed no risk to human consumption. Tesco said it was unaffected and was not withdrawing any products.
A joint Dutch-Belgian task force conducted raids at eight poultry farms in the Netherlands, according to the Dutch prosecution service.
In large quantities, the insecticide is considered by the World Health Organization to be "moderately hazardous" and can have unsafe effects on people's kidneys, liver and thyroid glands.
How to safely and profitably bet the 2017 Los Angeles Dodgers
Last summer, they made a small trade with the Seattle Mariners when they sent young pitcher Zach Lee north in exchange for Taylor. What's maybe remarkable about this 50-game stretch is the Dodgers have done it with a revolving door of players coming and going.
Tesla plans to raise $1.5B in bonds to fund Model 3
At the launch, Musk, however, warned that Tesla would face months of "manufacturing hell" as it increases production of the sedan. Interestingly enough, Musk said the launch of the Model 3 had not caused a problem for either the Model X or the Model S.
