10-year-old volunteer set to help mow White House lawn
But young entrepreneur Frank Giaccio of Falls Church, Virginia chose to dream big, and asked if he could bring his lawn-mowing business to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
During a White House press briefing this week, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that Frank would get the opportunity to cut the grass. Even though I'm only 10, I'd like to show the nation what young people like me are ready for.
On Friday, the 6th-grader, now 11, got his wish: As Trump looked on, Giaccio donned safety goggles and gardening gloves - then took one item off the White House landscapers' to-do list.
"You're free to pick whatever you want: power mower, push mower and weed whacker", wrote Frank, who lives in Falls Church, Virginia.
Frank said in an interview with CNN that he usually charges his neighbors $8 per lawn, but would waive his fees for the White House.
Trump says Frank is "the future of the country" and will soon be "very famous".
"My dad didn't think I was going to meet the president at all - I was just going to mow the Rose Garden". He also offered to bring "extra fuel" for the lawnmower. And two Park Service employees confirmed that Frank did an excellent job. "It was a lot bigger than I thought", he said.
