Bulgaria Train Collides With Bus In Russia Killing At Least 17

A passenger bus has collided with a train in a traffic accident in Vladimir Region, east of Russia's capital Moscow, on Friday (10/06/2017), killing at least 19 people.

According to the press office of the Moscow Railway Company, the bus was passing a train intersection near Pokrov Station at 03.39 local time when its engine died.

According to local law enforcement, 19 people have died in a crash after a train hit a bus stuck on a railway in the Vladimir region of Russian Federation.

At least 16 people were killed, including one child, and injured passengers have been hospitalized, according to early reports.

In a statement released by the regional interior ministry, it was said that all of the victims were on board the bus.

Though carrying workers from the Central Asian nation of Uzbekistan, the bus had a license plate registered in Kazakhstan, Russian news agencies reported.

Moscow's Department of Transport opened a criminal investigation of the incident. A train from St. Petersburg and destined for Nizhny Novgorod n struck him.

"The driver yelled, and 34 people jumped out of the bus to push it", RIA Novosti quoted Shlyakhova as saying.
