The second week of rankings by the College Football Playoff Committee was unchanged from week one. Even some two-loss teams have potential to win a conference championship which would put them in the picture if some top 10 rankedteams falter. Could the Bulldogs still make the playoff as a once-beaten non-conference champion as Ohio State did a year ago?
While Miami finally started building its playoff profile last week, Wisconsin, now the beleaguered Big Ten's best playoff candidate, can begin to craft a top-four-worthy résumé this week against No. 20 Iowa, which entered the rankings after its historic beating of Ohio State.
The good news for Miami is that it likely will have another profile-boosting opportunity against No. 4 Clemson in the ACC title game. No 15 Oklahoma State battles No. 21 Iowa State (noon). They play at the same time, so have the remote ready. Because of a weak strength of schedule, Miami is not the high in the rankings despite having no losses, so they will look to prove themselves as a contender against the No. 2 Fighting Irish. Which four teams do you think ultimately rise to the top?
Other two-loss teams: It's hard to see a path to the playoff for USC, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma State or anyone else with two losses already (except for Auburn).
