Rampage, with Dwayne Johnson: first trailer lands

Dwayne Johnson is BFFs with a giant gorilla in the first Rampage trailer

That was more than 20 years ago but the formula of the genre has stayed the same. But a rogue genetic experiment gone awry transforms this gentle ape into a raging monster.

The film adaptation of Rampage will follow Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in his one millionth film role in the last decade trying to save his gorilla friend, George, who has genetically mutated into a giant, uncontrollable beast. On the other hand, the only thing that seems to make this movie any different than San Andreas is that it features giant animals. The animals are tearing down everything that they come across on their path. Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the man who is the evil mastermind and considers humans to be the smartest species but to his surprise, the animals are too hard to control.

Rampage has been in various stages of development ever since Warner Bros. acquired the film rights to the property in 2011, but the studio couldn't find the appropriate creative team to shepherd the project until Peyton came on board in 2015.

$1tn Norwegian oil fund plans to ditch oil and gas stocks
The largest sovereign wealth fund in the world simply doesn't think it makes sense to hold onto oil and gas assets anymore. Norges Bank further said a divestment would not affect the fund's projected returns, nor would it raise its risk profile.

The film also stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan (who looks like he's having the time of his life in the trailer), Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello and Naomie Harris, and was directed by Brad Peyton, who also directed the honestly-pretty-solid Rock vehicle San Andreas.

Rampage is based on an arcade game that was quite popular in the 80s.
