Donald Trump Says He Rejected 'Probably' Being Time's 'Person Of The Year'

Donald Trump claims Time Magazine told him he was 'probably' going to be Man of the Year, but he rejected it

President Donald Trump tweeted on Friday to say that he'd turned down an offer from TIME Magazine to be named "Person of the Year". He says he told the magazine that "probably" isn't good enough, and he would pass on the opportunity.

Since 1927, Time Magazine has featured one person who has "for better or for worse" done "the most to influence the events of the year".

It claims it doesn't comment on its choice until publication, which is on the 6th of December.

Donald Trump has criticised TIME magazine in the past.

Time Magazine called to say that I was DEFINITELY going to be named "Man (Person) of the Year" but I would have to agree to leak major #Ep8 spoilers.

"They just wanted a photo shoot".

However, the magazine was back in his good graces when he appeared on the cover in August 2015 and when he was named "Person of the Year" in 2016. "But I'm sure you still have that fake TIME cover somewhere in storage".

Contenders for the 2017 honor include Trump's former chief strategist Steve Bannon, singer Ariana Grande, San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, football player Colin Kaepernick, French President Emmanuel Macron, former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, Sen.

But the real estate tycoon came up trumps past year, when the magazine gave him the title, describing him as the "President of the Divided States of America".

And not only him, there were others who could not digest the information.
