American Airlines, Pilots, Continue Holiday-Flight Feud
American Airlines, the world's biggest carrier, was forced to scramble this week because a computer glitch allowed too many pilots to schedule vacation during Christmas, risking the cancellation of hundreds of the 200,000 scheduled flights in December.
"Out of the 200,000 flights American will operate in December, only a few hundred are now unassigned to pilots", the statement said.
"We are pleased to report that together, American and the Allied Pilots Association have put that worry to rest to make sure our flights will operate as scheduled", the airline said in a statement.
The airline executives also expressed their appreciation to APA President Capt. Dan Carey and their 15,000 professional aviators. As a result of this error, thousands of flights in December initially did not have pilots assigned to them. Shares of American Airlines Group Inc. trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol AAL.

Cyclone Ockhi: More than 80 fishermen goes missing
The system also had the potential of intensifying into a cyclonic storm around the latter part of the first week of December. Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor tweeted; "Some 450 Kerala fishermen on 80 boats missing at sea since last night".
"The Allied Pilots Association is able to view in real time December flight crew assignments for American Airlines".
While American said Thursday that it had covered all but a few hundred trips, the union said its count early Friday showed thousands of flights scheduled for the last two weeks of the month were still missing one or both pilots.
"We remain seriously concerned about the potential for significant schedule disruption for our passengers, pilots, and fellow employees during the critical holiday travel season", the APA added.
