Google Maps public transit directions could soon tell you when to get off the bus or train
It's hoped that Google Maps can prevent a few tired warriors and tricked tourists from skipping a stop, then doubling back or perhaps a long, brisk walk with new notification prompts telling users how far along their public transit trip they are.
GoogleMaps recently introduced the "Two-wheeler mode" under which bikers get the fastest route to reach their destination.
The feature is said to be rolling out "soon" but we don't have anything more concrete regarding timelines.
In order to activate these updates, users will search for transit directions like usual, but then hit a "start" button at the bottom of the screen. As you might expect, this information shows after you've started navigation on GoogleMaps. A new update is about to come to the app that gives passengers a live update on their journey, perhaps even reminding people to get off.
Australian Parliament allows same-sex marriage
The legislation passed with a majority that wasn't challenged, although five lawmakers registered their opposition. Couples will shortly be able to register for marriage, but will have to wait 28 days before being able to marry.
These will appear in both the app and on Android lock screens, according to TechCrunch. Some may have received the update already so others will definitely follow. Now, Google is looking to launch a new feature which will be providing users live guidance and interactive real-time notifications during their journey.
With the help of this feature, GoogleMaps will be able to give its users real-time updates during transit by showing these updates on the Android lock screen. As you walk or ride on your local trains and buses, you will get live updates.
GoogleMaps could soon be implementing layers that highlight air quality levels in cities around the world. However, there's no estimated wait time for the feature's arrival in the GoogleMaps app.

Net Neutrality Fight Comes To Kenwood
It is ironic that advocates for the repeal of net neutrality claim that it amounts to government regulation of the internet. If net neutrality ends, "we're paying more for less".
