With speculation mounting regarding his fighting future and whether or not he will ever return to the Octagon, McGregor said he is putting his boxing career on hold for a bit and want an MMA fight next.
"A think a true fight is what I want to do next", McGregor said to TMZ. "A real fight".
"He did say an MMA fight".
Although the Mayweather-McGregor pay-per-view total is nearly double the third biggest fight of all time, the 2007 bout between Oscar De La Hoya and Mayweather which had 2.48 million buys.
That's more than enough to be the second richest boxing bout in history, behind the 4.6 million viewers who paid to see Mayweather beat Manny Pacquiao in 2015.
