Step aside Peter Parker, Miles Morales steps out as Spidey in the first teaser trailer for 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse'
But Into the Spider-Verse doesn't just look different.
But the real magic comes right at the end, when Miles sits down on a bench in a NY subway to speak to another Spider-Man-who looks uncannily similar to Peter Parker himself (though that might just be our own wishful thinking). The 1-minute 22-second clip debuted during Brazil Comic Con 2017 and gives us our first look at how the studio will portray Miles Morales as the web-slinger.
The teaser does its job of just teasing the plot of the film and animation style, with no specific details other than it featuring Miles swinging around NY in some of the most dynamic shots ever created for a Spider-Man movie. Marvel dedicated time and resources over the past 20 years to expanding its Spider-Man franchise beyond Peter Parker, with different men, women and even amusing animals suiting up to fight crime. While Morales might be the main protagonist of this movie, it is looking like we'll be meeting multiple Spider-Men in the course of Morales' journey. Shameik Moore is voicing Miles Morales.

Spider-man: Into The Spider-Verse hits theatres December 21st, 2018.
Morales was first introduced in 2011 during Chapter 4 of the Ultimate Fallout Marvel comic book series. One where it pushes beyond what computer-animated movies is usually seen as both visually and storytelling-wise, and with a more serious tone than the typical family-friendly animated movie.
The animated film is the brainchild of writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (the duo behind "The Lego Movie").
While it didn't show up during Sony's PlayStation Experience conference, a new trailer did wind up showing for Insomniac Games' Spider-Man.
