Airtel customers can avail 2GB per day data through a Rs 349 plan which has similar benefits. These plans might be slightly cheaper than RelianceJio's news plans, but come with less daily data.
Vodafone has also introduced a new plan for first time rechargers. "We are delighted to announce the launch of our new plan, that we believe, will help our customers remain connected, both through voice and data, in a completely worry free manner". It offers unlimited calls, 1GB per day 3G/ 4G, free outgoing in national roaming and free 100 SMS per day. Airtel at Rs 198 offers 1GB of daily data per day for a period of 28days but with no talktime benefits.
The Rs 199 tariff plan by Vodafone now gives 1GB data per day for 28 days, a report by TelecomTalk said.
Vodafone with its two new plans aims to target Jio's Happy New Year offer.
To recall - Reliance Jio recently launched two new plans under the Happy New Year Offer 2018. These are the Rs 199 recharge plan and one for Rs 299.
At present, Jio offers a Rs 149 data plan that comes with 28 days validity but offers only 4 GB data during the validity period along with 300 SMSes. The validity of both the plans is 28 days.
However, the plan has a caveat, which you must know. It also includes 100 free SMS per day. With 1GB data per day and unlimited calling, the plans will take care of all their communication needs,"Avneesh Khosla - Associate Director -Consumer Business, Vodafone India, said in a statement". The daily 4G data limit is 2GB.
Besides the 28GB data offering, this plan from Vodafone also gives unlimited voice calls in home and roaming circles. However, the official website does not mention the new Rs. 198 plan in some circles, such as Delhi-NCR, Chennai etc.
