Iowa Family Missing in Mexico Found Dead in Their Condo

A family of four from Iowa was suppose to be in Danville to root for their home team, but Friday night they were found dead in Mexico.

Authorities in Iowa identified the family as 41-year-old Kevin Sharp; his wife, 38-year-old Amy Sharp; and their children, 12-year-old Sterling and 7-year-old Adrianna.

Breach, a correspondent for Mexican daily La Jornada in the state of Chihuahua, on the U.S. border, was a celebrated investigative journalist known for hard-hitting reports on links between politicians and organized crime. There were no signs of foul play.

Local reports in Mexico said investigators are trying to determine if food poisoning or a gas leak were responsible. Kevin and Amy Sharp, as well as their two children, were confirmed dead by police in their hometown of Creston, Iowa, the Des Moines Register reported.

The family was scheduled to return to the USA on a flight to St. Louis on March 21 and attend the Southwest Community College basketball game in Danville, Illinois. on Thursday.

Relatives filed a missing persons report with the US Embassy in Mexico, KCCI reports.

Emergency situation authorities mosted likely to the family members's condo after they can not board the trip from Cancun to locate the dead bodies.

Creston police confirmed the family died in their vacation condominium in Akumal, Mexico, near Tulum.
