"We Can't Stop", the debut single off her infamous 2013 album Bangerz, is now the subject of a lawsuit aimed at the singer, filed by Jamaican dancehall artist Flourgon.

In the suit, May alleges that Cyrus's lyrics, namely the line, "We run things, things don't run we", are blatantly copped from his tune, and that she unlawfully borrowed his "vocal melody/rhythm/cadence/inflection".

Singer Miley Cyrus performs during the 2018 MusiCares Person of the Year show honoring Fleetwood Mac at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, New York, U.S., January 26, 2018. Flourgon's song includes virtually the same line, "We run things, things no run we". "Things no run we", a phrase May claims to have coined. His song contains the lyrics "We run things / Things no run we" and Cyrus' song contains the lyrics "And we can't stop / We run things, things don't run we / Don't take nothing from nobody".

This lawsuit is no party in the United States of America for the singer.

Reuters has reported that May says Miley's song, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, "owes the basis of its chart-topping popularity to and its highly-lucrative success to plaintiff May's protected, unique, creative and original content".

Representatives for Cyrus, 25, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. "The lawsuit does not specify any damages, but his lawyers called it a "$300 million case".

May is seeking a halt to all future sales or performances of "We Can't Stop", as well as a list of demands equaling upwards of $300 million.
