Gennady Golovkin to fight Vanes Martirosyan on 5 May in Los Angeles

"I am truly shocked about what has happened, and for those who have doubts and suspicions about my integrity I have always been and always will be a clean fighter", Alvarez said.

Middleweight boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez has been suspended for six months for a failed test for steroids, pushing the date for a rematch with Gennady Golovkin further back.

Golovkin will now face Vanes Martirosyan on May 5 at StubHub Center in Los Angeles.

Martirosyan holds a pro-record of 36-3-1 and while he has competed for several titles in the past, the oddsmakers will no doubt be especially tough on his chances as he attempts to upset one of the world's top pound-for-pound talents.

"Vanes Martirosyan is now the most important fight of my career".

Tom Brady has not yet committed to playing in 2018
There is also a reported rift with coach Bill Belichick that seems to be growing this offseason. Aside from Brady , the Patriots only have veteran Brian Hoyer in their quarterback depth chart.

Martirosyan has lost three of his last six fights, including to Erislandy Lara for the WBA super welterweight crown last May.

However, the 27-year-old tested positive for banned fat-stripper clenbuterol earlier this year and subsequently pulled out of the fight, claiming that contaminated meat in Mexico had caused the sample as opposed to deliberate attempts to dope. He did remove himself from the fight recently after news of the results. Alvarez's promoters say he will return to the ring in September.

"Vanes Martirosyan brings a passionate Armenian fan base from nearby Glendale and an aggressive style of fighting", Loeffler said.

"I'm going to take full advantage of this fight". "Best of all, he is ready and wants the fight".

Alvarez had been a steady attraction in Las Vegas on the Cinco De Mayo weekend, and a consistent star on pay-per-view. Armenians will pack the place. "If Triple G is successful May 5, then the biggest fight in the sport of boxing is still Triple G and Canelo, and that's the fight we would try to make".
