The inspirational one-handed linebacker was selected with the 141st overall pick of the 2018 National Football League draft by the Seattle Seahawks, meaning he'll once again link up with his twin brother, Shaquill.

Shaquem, who was picked in the fifth round on Saturday, had his left hand amputated when he was just four, having been born with a condition that prevented the fingers on that hand from fully developing. And they continued throughout this whole process to let me know how much they loved my brother, how much they loved my family. The Giants passed on trying to get their quarterback of the future to replace Eli Manning in the first round, taking running back Saquon Barkley at No. 2 overall. He nevertheless grew up to star for his high school in track, football and baseball before winning an athletics scholarship to the University of Central Florida alongside Shaquill.

His brother, Shaquill, was a third-round pick for the Seahawks in 2017.

"I couldn't breathe", Griffin told ESPN as he described the moment the Seahawks called to say they wanted him.

I don't know if I've ever been in a more inspirational interview that we do at the combine than that one.

A groundswell of support got him an invitation to the scouting combine in Indianapolis, where he stunned onlookers by bench-pressing 225 pounds a staggering 20 times with a prosthetic left hand and then covered the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds.

Getting picked was a dream come true for Griffin as he joins his twin brother, Shaquill Griffin, who was drafted by Seattle in the third round past year. "This is a great experience, just to be here right now with my family", Griffin told the NFL Network's Scott Hanson, who served as the final-day stage host.

Shaquem Griffin provided one of the biggest stories of the 2018 NFL Draft when it came to a conclusion on Saturday.

"I couldn't ask for anything (else) in the world than the opportunity to be back with him", Shaquem said.

I hope I am an inspiration for people, to see I can do whatever I want.

Even before the draft, Griffin signed an endorsement deal with Nike.
