Guardiola fires title warning Of course United can still win PL

Pep Guardiola has warned Manchester City that Manchester United are more than capable of snatching the Premier League title from their grasp in the closing weeks of the season.

City could clinch their third league title in seven seasons if they beat Tottenham on Saturday and United lose against West Bromwich Albion but Guardiola does not expect Jose Mourinho's side to lose momentum in the final stretch.

Manchester United fans may still be on a high after last Sunday's second-half comeback to spoil Man City's title celebrations at the Etihad.

"I don't know. We can not forget he was one month injured".

"But if we score the second goal or we score two or three goals you would see how they run and how aggressive they are".

"He made a huge effort because after the action from Ashley Young against United, his problems in the knee, he could not train", Guardiola said. "Hopefully he will be back for our last few games if we need him and especially for his World Cup".

Guardiola believes getting two goals disqualified over the two legs played a role in their exit. If we lose we're going to do it in a similar way to the way we played against United and Liverpool. "We have problems - John Stones is not ready, Fernandinho is suspended, Benjamin Mendy is out", the Spaniard told a press conference yesterday.

Chelsea voted against the prospect of having Video Assistant Referees (VAR) introduced in the Premier League next season.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola referred to Tottenham Hotspur as the "Harry Kane team" in October, but six months on he is full of praise for the North Londoners. "Real Madrid, years ago, lost six games in a row and didn't win the league".

"It is going to be a hard game for us". "We have to win two or win one and draw two games". "We have 13 or 14 players for the next game plus the kids".

"We need to be consistent during the whole season and be the best team like Manchester City is doing today. The first test is tomorrow and we will try hard".

That being said, the Premier League is alone in Europe's big five leagues, as VAR will be used across the other four major competitions including Ligue 1 and La Liga for the first time.
