Officials in NO are weather aware of the possibility of strong storms
"Good Saturday morning! A large, slow-moving storm system is bringing winter is back to the area with a vengeance this weekend".
The National Weather Service predicts a fairly dry week, but conditions may change by the weekend. A freeze warning is in effect through 10 am today.
A humid and muggy start to the day on Sunday with temperatures in the 70s. Lows will be in the lower 40s with west winds 10 to 15 miles per hour. Snow totals were upwards of a foot through south central South Dakota. Highs are forecast near 50 and lows near 39. Sunday will stay cool with highs only in the low 60s and a steady westerly breeze.
After freezing fields and leaving a blanket of snow in Wisconsin on Friday, the system rolled through Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi Saturday.
