'Sharp Objects' First Trailer: Amy Adams Stars in HBO's Limited Series

Major thriller The haunting new show based on a book by Gone Girl's Gillian Flynn is set to premiere in July
Based on the novel by Gone Girl writer Gillian Flynn, this new series looks every bit as insane and surreal as you would expect from such a twisted but superbly "sharp" mind.
Sharp Objects is an adaptation of Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn's first novel.
After months and months of waiting, the first trailer for Sharp Objects debuted right before the Westworld season 2 premiere on April 22. Once she's back in her hometown, she also has to deal with her hard mother (played by Patricia Clarkson) and half sister, both of whom she's avoided for years. Her mother is a handful, to say the least. Amy Adams plays Camille Preaker, a reporter who has recently been discharged from a psychiatric hospital.
The trailer doesn't give too much away, but it shows just enough to have you totally and completely invested.
The trailer ends with Amy gasping for air after being submerged in a bathtub and the last words viewers hear is a little girl whispering: "It's not safe for you here".
Also appearing in the series are Patricia Clarkson (Adora Crellin), Chris Messina (Detective Richard Willis), Elizabeth Perkins (Jackie), Matt Craven (Vickery), and Eliza Scanlen (Ama Crellin).
HBO is it at it again with another potentially big series hit series coming our way, in the shape of the mysterious Sharp Objects mini-series as the channel looks to once again add to their slate of impressive properties.
"Big Little Lies" director Jean-Marc Vallée directed all eight episodes, and also co-edited the limited series.
It's a little hard to gather anything about what we can expect from the adapted story as the trailer doesn't reveal too much.
