While storms and showers will still be possible on Thursday, the ingredients for severe weather will likely occur just east of KAKEland. Storms will fire up near US-283 between 3-5 p.m. and then track to the east and northeast. Storms will last into the late evening hours so make sure to stay weather aware.

May is essentially considered the start of severe weather season for Colorado. The threat for severe storms will likely be in the central and southern Plains, perhaps extending into the lower Missouri Valley. The city of Wichita and Sedgwick County are not included in the watch, and the main severe weather threat is expected to be north and west of the Wichita area.
