Eurovision image story

The decision to block China's Mango TV from showing Eurovision was made by the European Broadcasting Union.

"This really is not in accord with the EBU's values of universality and inclusivity and also our proud heritage of celebrating diversity by songs", an announcement by your EBU stated.

The team, who analysed data collected around the time of the Eurovision Song Contest (May and June) between 2009-2015, found that people reported being more satisfied with their life if their country had done well in the Eurovision Song Contest that year.

On Tuesday, May 8, China's Mango TV blurred a rainbow flag that appeared during Switzerland's performance and also chose to cut performances from Ireland and Albania.

Chocolate truck spill causes sticky situation on Polish highway
Inclement weather can render roads risky to drive on, but it turns out spilled chocolate can be just as much of an inconvenience. By the time clean up crews had arrived the liquid had begun to solidify, making the scene hard to clean up, local police said.

According to reports, the broadcaster also censored rainbow flags which could be seen in the audience. "It is with great regret that we will therefore immediately be terminating our partnership with the broadcaster and they will not be permitted to broadcast the second Semi-Final or the Grand Final".

After four successive years of failing to qualify for the grand final, it means Ireland could be on course for its best result in over a decade.

Such censorship is perhaps unsurprising from a country which has a history of media censorship.

Questions to ask include: "when is the Eurovision Song Contest starting?", "what is the Eurovision theme this year?" and "who is the United Kingdom entry for Eurovision this year?" "From the very start we have just said love is love", he told BBC Four. Mango TV and China's TV and radio regulator did not reply to request for comment.

Around this time a year ago, Italy also lost their big leap and Portugal and Bulgaria started to present themselves as potential Eurovision winners.
